Day 1 - Arthur Weasley

Day 1- Arthur Weasley  Arthur Weasley: The Muggle Enthusiast Arthur Weasley is a kind-hearted, well-meaning wizard, the father of seven children and husband to Molly Weasley. He is an employee of the Ministry of Magic, where he works in the Misuse of Muggle Artefacts Office. His most defining trait is his lifelong, passionate fascination with the non-magical world, or the "Muggle" world. Unlike many wizards who view Muggles and their inventions with contempt or ignorance, Arthur is genuinely curious and respectful of their ingenuity. His famous question, "Tell me, what exactly is the function of a rubber duck?" highlights his bewilderment and earnest desire to understand even the most simple, yet apparently functionless, Muggle items Prompt 24 Rounds on SOCK A Knit CHART on SOCK A.  # HEEL instructions incase you want to plot out your heel ahead of time or plot swapping it out for an alternate heel. (let us know the alternate heels if you use one, we'd like to be able to suggest them for those who don't like an afterthought heel) **HEEL** Heel placement  - you're going to want to measure your foot if you're doing toe up and place your afterthought heel stitches at 2 inches less than total foot length. doing top down, using a pre-knitted pair of socks - figure out how many rounds you normally do in a sock foot to fit  (like I know plain knitting my socks are 70 rounds for the foot)- subtract that number from 150 (that's the number of rounds in the whole sock - it does make a tall sock - there are points where the number of rounds match up and the socks can be stopped if you want shorter ones) this should give you a round count where you want to put your heel. you can then either put in a contrast colour (knit across the heel stitches and then p...
 # Alternative ways of knitting the advent KAL There are several different ways that you can knit the coming advent socks, some pick one of the daily colours and just knit stripes. this is a fun way to knit along if you want a low stress option. Some have split the socks into two pairs for shorter socks, others have turned them into fingerless mitts. We've had some stunning 2 colour versions over the years. In short we want you to enjoy it and there is no wrong to make these  This year for our Advent Sock KAL we would like to again offer to encourage you to step out of your comfort zone and try helical or helix knitting. This technique can use many colors or stick with just two. One way to have fun with your socks would be to carry your chosen house color from the toe or cuff throughout. The second (or more) color stripes would come from the daily prompt. Alternatively, you can choose to knit with the colors that would normally be used in the colorwork chart for that day. Give...

Day 24 Mistletoe is an Ingredient in the Antidote to Most Poisons and the Forgetfulness Potion. Mistletoe is used as Christmas decoration and was part of the decorations in the Room of Requirement just before the Christmas holidays. Luna remarked that Nargles frequently infest mistletoe. Later, Harry and Cho Chang were alone under the mistletoe, and this time Harry brought up Nargles out of nervousness, but Cho laughed and they kissed. The Lovegoods have mistletoe growing on either side of their front door with a sign saying “PICK YOUR OWN MISTLETOE”.  Day 23. Slytherins tended to be ambitious, shrewd, cunning, strong leaders, and achievement-oriented. They also had highly developed senses of self-preservation. This means that Slytherins tended to hesitate before acting, so as to weigh all possible outcomes before deciding exactly what should be done. According to Albus Dumbledore, the qualities which Salazar valued in the students he had chosen included cleverness, resourcefulness, determination, and "a certain disregard for the rules". Dumbledore noted that all of these were qualities possessed by Harry Potter, who was a Gryffindor but was almost placed in Slytherin. Slytherins tended to take charge and possessed strong leadership skills. They were often self-assured and confident of their own competence and can be very loyal.
